How can my student be considered for the Robertson?
Each year, college counselors like you guide thousands of young people through the college admissions process, striving to find the right match for their abilities, interests and ambitions. Your role is vital, and you are in a unique position to help identify students who would embrace and benefit from the wealth of opportunities the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program offers.
We have an open application process, which means qualified students may self-nominate by completing the Robertson online application.
While most of our applicants self-nominate, we do have a Partner School process which allows schools to nominate up to two (2) students who they believe would benefit and contribute most as a Robertson Scholar. Keeping our Selection Criteria in mind, many Partner Schools convene a scholarship committee to select their school’s candidates. Neither financial need nor a student’s current interest in attending Duke or UNC should be considered in selecting nominees.
Details about the nomination process as well as a link to the nomination form will be sent directly to Partner School counselors. Please submit nominations by September 25 to ensure that students will be able to meet the Robertson application deadline in mid-November.
Students who do not attend a Partner School or who are not nominated by their school but believe they are competitive may self-nominate by completing the Robertson online application. Please note that students do not need to be nominated by their school in order to be considered for the Robertson Program.
If you are interested in having your school become an official Partner School, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. New Partner School additions will be considered in the spring and summer.
