The Robertson Scholars Leadership Program would like to celebrate the life of Dr. Aaron Stern, who passed away on April 13, 2021, and his unique contributions to our Program.

Dr. Stern, a champion of the Program, served as a Trustee of the Robertson Foundation as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the Robertson Scholarship, where he mentored both Duke and UNC Scholars.

Dr. Stern was a renowned psychoanalyst, educator, clinician, and researcher who spent his career driving advances in both medicine and education; serving on the faculties of Yale, Columbia, NYU, and UCLA. It was his expertise that inspired Julian Robertson to retain Dr. Stern as a member of the team of Tiger Management, where he developed the fund’s framework for human capital evaluation. Dr. Stern served for 30 years in a variety of roles at Tiger, however it was his time with the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program that he described as “treasured.”

For those who knew Dr. Stern, we invite you to share notes of remembrance and celebration by emailing alumni@robertsonscholars.org, which will be shared with the family. Additionally, in lieu of flowers, Dr. Stern’s family has kindly requested that you consider a gift to The Aaron Stern, MD, PhD Program in Psychodynamic Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine. To contribute, please contact Christophe Larroque, Principal Gifts Officer, at 929-241-4825 or email cjl2006@med.cornell.edu
