Full Time Analyst Position - 2024 Start
G2 Venture Partners is a venture capital firm that invests in transformative technology companies at their inflection points to build a sustainable future. We back amazing technology companies that grow the economy while reducing emissions. G2 spun out of Kleiner Perkins in 2017, and currently has ~$1B in assets under management. The founding team has been investing together for ~15 years. ABOUT THE ANALYST ROLE This investing apprenticeship role will expose the Analyst to every aspect of venture capital. While shadowing and supporting two G2 Partners, the Analyst will:- Meet brilliant entrepreneurs as they pitch climate tech startups that plan to change the world.
- Evaluate exciting technologies and develop viewpoints on how they will transform traditional industries to be more sustainable.
- Participate in (and vote in) Investment Committee discussions.
- Prepare for (and work on follow-ups to) portfolio company Board meetings to assist G2 Partners in their roles as Board Directors advising firms on their most important considerations (strategy, organization, financings, M&A, etc).
- Help portfolio companies improve the economic engines that drive their businesses.
- Communicate with the institutions / people who invested in G2’s funds.
- Be curious, enjoy figuring out how technologies, industries, and companies work, and not be satisfied by superficial answers.
- Have the horsepower to quickly learn new techniques and tools, identifying the right approach to solve any problem in front of them.
- Crisply communicate conclusions and ideas, be prepared to support views with data, work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Be self-motivated and take initiative in seeking ways to contribute; Fix stuff that is broken without being asked.
- Have a “whatever it takes” attitude; Willing to doggedly grind through data and research to discover a critical insight and fully understand the situation.
- Show genuine interest in sustainability technology businesses.
- Personal identifiers, such as your name, preferred name, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, email address, account name, Social Security number, date of birth, and other similar identifiers.
- Personal Records, such as your signature, Social Security number, address, telephone number, education, employment or employment history.
- Protected characteristics, such as minority, veteran and disability status, through voluntary self-disclosure. Such information will only be collected as permitted by applicable law and will not be used to make hiring decisions.
- Internet or other similar network activity information, such as your IP address, log-in information or information regarding your interaction with a website, application or advertisement.
- Geolocation Data, such as IP addresses from which we can determine your general location.
- Sensory data, such as audio and visual information, for example if you use video interviewing as part of the application process. If you visit our facilities, your entry and exit may be monitored by CCTV.
- Professional or employment-related information, such as your work history, references, information about skills and abilities, accomplishments and awards, training and development information, performance evaluation information, and employment termination information.
- Education information, such as your education history, education records (such as grades, transcripts and class lists), and other information included in your resume or cover letter.
- Inferences drawn from other personal information, such as a profile reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities and aptitudes.
- Other: Job interview notes, responses to screening questions, assessment results, and any other information you provide in connection with the recruitment process. We also collect legal and contractual information, such as information necessary to respond to law enforcement and governmental agency requests, comply with legal and contractual obligations, exercise legal and contractual rights, and initiate or respond to, or establish, exercise and defend, legal and contractual rights claims.

The City of Durham’s Innovation Team manages the continuous improvement and innovation workplans for the City of Durham. Our process includes detailed exploration, ideation, testing, and analysis phases for each project we take on with a commitment to storytelling throughout. We are looking for a Research Assistant who can help summarize our project work and write reports, case studies, blog posts, and proposals for both technical and lay audiences.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with the compilation and writing of technical reports for continuous improvement projects centered on contracting, City ordinances, and litter prevention programs.
- Review existing files (reports, presentations, internal documents) from historical innovation and process improvement projects and summarize into public-facing pieces for the I-Team’s website.
- Develop content, including case studies and infographics, for the I-Team’s webpage, targeted at residents and non-specialists.
- Research relevant popular press or industry-related storytelling outlets and create pitches and/or proposals for pieces we wish to publish and promote.
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited university or college.
- Pursuing a degree in communications, public policy, social science, or other related field OR have experience writing for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with communication design tools such as Canva.
- Minimal familiarity with blogs or website-hosting and publishing platforms such as WordPress.
- Interest in the work of municipal innovation teams including process improvement, applied experiments, and storytelling.
Movie Production Intern

Intern will learn how Hollywood attaches value to actors in order to project return on investments, write offer letters to potential actors’ managers, learn how to seek funding for indie films, find distribution and sales agents for international territories and box offices, peruse IMDb and social media for celebrity and surfer contact information, watch surf competitions for great up-and-comers, compile lists, create look books, read budgets, create schedules, and more while learning about the business side of indie filmmaking.
Being able to meet deadlines is a must. Should have access to your own phone, laptop and transportation. Film interest, computer and social media skills required, business experience or interest a real plus. Director-writer currently focuses about 95 percent on feature films with a small amount of television, but definitely a strong emphasis on indie feature film development at this time.
