For years there was no secondary schooling available for girls in Muhuru Bay, Kenya. With support from the Robertson Program and a Duke professor, Andy (Duke ’08) set out to change that. Today, the Women’s Institute for Secondary Education, or WISER, is the result of having the courage to think big and put ideas and passion into action.
Kristin and Tom (both UNC ’09) shared a love of music and live performance. So when Tom had a vision to bring new sounds to UNC, he called up Kristin—and something big was born. With support from the Robertson network of coaches and mentors, they created a committee responsible for bringing new, up-and-coming bands to perform live at UNC.
